The MFI - Melt Flow Index is an instrument that tests the flow rate of thermoplastic. It measures the extrusion rate when molten thermoplastic is extruded through a die of prescribed length and diameter under prescribed temperature and pressure conditions. The unit of measurement of MI is expressed as g/10 min, that is, the amount of resin flowing out for 10 minutes, and is denoted by the symbol MFR.
